Long Hùng martial art training center


- Introduction:   This center has been directed by Master Ho van Trong since 1980.  With the aspirations of imparting martial arts, improving health and training sportsmanship to those who are very fond of martial art techniques.  Owing to limited conditions, Master Trong only candidates who are introduced by their acquaintances and who are determined to take the training course in order to become a person with a firm stuff in life and useful to his/her society, and who is ultimately eager to become the pick of the basket of Phakwondo.

THE WORSHIPPED FOUNDERS OF PHAKWONDO ARE:

 

-Excellency Dalai Lama, Originator:   Buddhism originator (the founder of Thieu Lam Shrine).  His death anniversary is 5 October (lunar calendar)
-Excellency Thai Thuong Lao Quan : Originator of Fairies’ Religion (Commander of Fairies’ Religion).   His death anniversary is 15 February (lunar calendar)
-Excellency Quan Thanh De Quan :  Originator of Nhon Religion (Loyalty and Faithfulness Deity).  His death anniversary is 24 June (lunar calendar)
-Excellency King Hung Dao Tran Quoc Tuan.  Vietnam Military Originator.  His death anniversary is 20 August (lunar calendar)
-Excellency King Quang Trung Nguyen Hue:  Vietnam Heroic Originator.  29 July (lunar calendar)
All disciples must keep in touch with one another and be present at the founders’ annual death anniversaries.

THE FIVE HEART RULES OF PHAKWONDO:
1- The believing Heart:   Believing in the religious sect – Believing in the master – Believing in uprightness
2- The heart of nobility:   High loyalty – High reproach – Sportsmanship
3- The heart of respect:   Respect to everybody
4- The heart of endurance:   The will to patience
5- The heart of uprightness:   Determinedly doing right things

The ranks of Phakwondo members are as follows:

  • Leader = Sect Leader
  • Head of School = House creator (White belt)
  • Instructor = House administrator (Yellow belt)
  • Guide = House enterer (Pint belt)
  • Disciple = Subject enterer (Blue belt)
  • Trainee = New enterer of a school (jet-black belt)

 

Salutation:   Left hand with the thumb and the fingers turned inside to make it a close fist (the meaning is everything is determined to show unanimity)  - the whole hand is placed against the breast and then the follower bows him-herself.  The right hand holds the weapon, passes it to the palm of the left hand and then extends it in front of the chest  -  the distance between the fist and the chest shows the difference in the (martial art) belts.
            As defined, a subject enterer hides his/her hand in salutation, while a guide holds out his/her hand, his/her hand upturns; the meaning of this is that the person concerned has mastered the regulations of Phakwondo.  An instructor extends his/her hand vertically during salutation, and a head of school turns it upward; the meaning being that he/she has already mastered the martial art, so he/she is trying to transform the five key universe elements.

Phakwondo attire:   Black trousers with a strengthening band and black shirt.  The belt is 10 centimeters large and from 2 to 2.5 meters long  -  the shirt is a kind of Chinese model with knitted buttons.

- Origin:   Master Ho van Trong with his professional name Long Hung – Swashbuckling name Hung Chuong is presently head of a school representing a member of Phakwondo.  He has a long period of exercising and studying various martial art sects.
            The masters who were Master Ho van Trong’s teachers are:
-Master Do Phi Long, Head of a martial art school and founder of Phakwondo.
-Master Nguyen Manh Duc, Hung Kuen Lau fau Shan
-Master Ly Hong Thai (Nguyen Minh Chanh, who has Lan as an alias),Hung Kuen Lau fau Shan
-Master Trần Văn Lê, of martial art Taekwondo
and a number of masters belonging to other martial art sects

Teaching Plans 
Martial art deeds: help trainees improve their Kung Fu physical strength

  • They themselves give flexibility to their body joints. Movements: body posture methods
  • Their body strength: Doing push-ups (5 methods), kick-jumps, bell-folding.
  • External force: suitable to trainee’s level (rattan binding, plant binding, steel-rod rolling, etc.)
  • Respiratory training: suitable to trainee’s level
  • Lifting techniques: Universe five key element lifting, Jumping into wave lifting. Foot lifting
  • Wrestling techniques: Use wrestling techniques, hurling down, winding, binding, etc.

Martial arts: Technique developments

  • Drilling of modifying boxing forms:   Three star, Four opening, Universe five key element, Six combining, Seven star, Eight-sign figure, Nine end, Figure intended, Extremity, Infinity, Dead drunk, etc.
  • Exercise of weapons:   Sticks, Swords, Knives, Long-handled spears, Sharp-pointed arms, Chains, Two-section sticks, Three-section sticks, Double sticks, Three-fork spearheads, etc.
